Using Photo Editing Software

GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a free piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. With Photoshop remaining a very expensive program GIMP will allow us to try out some of the advanced elements used in Digital Photography today.

Panoramic Photography

Sometimes called  VR photography (that's "Virtual Reality") or QTVR ("QuickTime Virtual Reality") because the images can be used as VR sets. We see 360 degree panoramic images from Google Street View. Basically a 360 panoramic view is a series of   photos that cover every direction from a single viewpoint. The pictures are then stitched together to create a wide angle view.

 You will need:

  1. a program to develop RAW images from the camera =we will import using win import camera wizard
  2. a stitching program such as Hugin (free), PTGui, or Autopano Pro
  3. an image editing program such as Photoshop or Gimp.
