What is a Maker Space?

Our space is located in the school’s library and is filled with learning stations which inspires students’ creativity and innovation providing students the  opportunity to create, build, tinker, invent, and “make”. Our stations  include arts& crafts, electronics/circuits, robotics, building blocks, stop-motion animation, virtual and augmented reality along with pop-up cards, comic creation, and spin art, and so much more

    • Application of 21st century skills

    • Using creativity with a purpose

    • Applying classroom content knowledge to Problem solving

    • Addresses Many standards

    • Provide open ended activities and team work similar to what engineers and designers use

    • Using Technology as a tool not as an end onto itself

    • Engagement of learners offering them choices and encouraging self direction

    • Tied to STEAM Curriculum (Science, Technology, Art and Math)
