What is Web 2.0?
A term used to talk about the interactive nature of the Internet and how applications can be transfered from desktop applications and used in the Broswer format. Sometimes referred to as Web Based applications. A few good examples might be: UTube, Flicker.
RIA refers to rich internet applications, or programs that run within a browser such as Firefox and Internet Explorer.
SOA- Service Oriented Archeticure
A mashup is a web application that combines data from more than one source into a single integrated tool; a typical example is the use of cartographic data from Google Maps to add location information to real-estate data from Craigslist, thereby creating a new and distinct web service that was not originally envisaged by either source.
Social Networking- the end user( the person using the computer)m not only interacts using the applications but also contributes to it. Examples such as wiki's, blogs, podcasts, and classroom 2.0 engage the users in the on-going process.
